Tips & Tricks | Which lifting loop do I need?

Goliath vs David

To start with, Liftinggear-shop has two types of threaded lifting loops in its range; Goliath and David. The main difference between these two types is that the loop on the David is attached directly to the screw. With the Goliath, the threaded lifting loop has been passed through the screw. We have two variants of the Goliath, one with an 8 pressing and one with an O pressing. The Goliath loops can move freely, making them suitable for use in angles up to 90°. We have threaded lifting loops in the Liftinggear shop ranging up to a WLL of 17,500 kg. Due to the direct connection to the screw, the David lifting loops can only be used in an upright position up to 45°. This makes the type also suitable for less heavy lifting jobs with loads from 900 kg. Choose the type of threaded lifting loop that fits the lifting situation and the load you will be lifting.

Metric versus RD

Both the Goliath and the David variants are available in various sizes, with a metric screw thread or a round thread (RD). The metric thread has an angular thread, while the RD has a round thread cut according to RD DIN 405/DIN 20400.
