Tips & Tricks | New in our range: Hoists with loadcell!

Both the lever hoist and the manual chain block can be used in many situations. The ease with which these hoists lift heavy loads makes them an ideal solution. A hoist is also often used in combination with a crane scale, so that loads can be weighed directly. Wouldn't it be handy if the hoist had a scale? We think so! It saves time and more importantly is much more accurate. You can read the benefits of a hoist with load cell in this blog!

Tips & Tricks | New in our range: Hoists with loadcell!

Chain block vs Lever hoist

When we talk about the standard models of ratchet hoist and manual chain block, both lifting devices work in a slightly different way. With the chain hoist, you lift loads up and down because the pulling force in the lifting equipment is converted into lifting force. Two chains are used for this. One chain with which you manually put the hoist to work and one chain that lifts the load. The ratchet hoist has one chain and is actuated by the ratcheting movement made with the lever. The gears are driven, and a force is created to be able to lift the load. Where a hand chain block can only be used vertically, the ratchet hoist can be applied in 360 degrees. For this reason, the hoist is often used to tension loads, so that they cannot move unexpectedly.

Hoists with loadcell

Having the correct load and force calculation equipment is essential for safe lifting. For anyone looking to reduce risk and increase productivity, the load cell chain block or load cell lever hoist is a good investment. The load cell is positioned between the hoist and the hook, keeping the construction height as compact as possible. The electronic sensor works very accurately not only when it comes to measuring weight, but also when measuring tension. Ideal, for example, when a load must be secured under a maximum tension.

Overload protection

Both the chain block hoist with loadcell and the lever hoist with loadcell are equipped with overload protection. This means that when the hoist exceeds the maximum lifting capacity, a one-way clutch will be engaged. This coupling only slips in the lifting direction, so that the load can only be lowered at this point. The safety function ensures that dangerous conditions are avoided if the maximum working load is exceeded.

Quality

A load cell lever hoists can have a maximum workload of up to 3,200 KG with a maximum lifting height of 10 meters. The chain blocks with load cell have a maximum workload of 5000 KG and a maximum lifting height of 20 meters. The hoists are assembled using premium load chains and have a lightweight and durable all-steel construction. Both the bottom and top have a swivel hook. The metal housing of the hoists is powder coated and the rollers are replaced by modern and powerful chain guides. The chains are galvanized and the nesting disc is hardened for optimal quality. To guarantee quality, hoists are assembled and tested in our own workshop before shipment.
