Bow shackle with a safety bolt
These standard Green pin harp shackles come with a safety bolt instead of a screw collar pin, the bolt stays safe and secure thanks to the split pin that comes with it.
It is preferable to use this type of shackle for lifting operations where friction can be exerted on the pin / bolt; a standard screw collar pin could potentially be unscrewed in this scenario, while the safety bolt stayes in place.
As these green pin shackles are made of high tensile strength steel up to grade 6 and are quenched and tempered, they can be used in conjunction with the hot dip galvanized finish in a wide temperature range - from minus 40 degrees to plus 200 degrees Celsius.
This series of green pin shackles with a safety bolt have a 6: 1 safety ratio where the minimum breaking load = 6 x the WLL (working load limit) and are available up to 55 tons.
