How does a fall arrest system work?

The way this fall arrest block works is by attaching the user to a steel carabiner at one end of a 2.5-metre-long strap. This strap automatically rolls up into the block. It works like a car seat belt. The strap can be extended and is rolled up again thanks to an internal mechanism in the block. In the event of a fall, the block brakes the belt. This stops the fall. It even includes a braking mechanism designed to reduce the force of a fall, further reducing the risk of injury.
